New to Performance Coaching?

Answer a few questions below and we'll suggest what may be the next steps for in your career, or potential roles you may be able to consider, depending on your experience.

Our tool below has been designed to help you navigate the various roles in performance coaching.

There are four different categories of roles available:

  • LTA roles
  • Player Pathway roles
  • Education roles
  • Independent roles

Click on the circular markers on the diagram below to see what roles exist in that category and then click on the role to find out more.

You’ll find an overview of the role, details around travel requirements, who the role interacts with and the potential locations.

There is also information on the experience, knowledge, skills and training employers typically look for in a coach for the role, as well as a short video from a coach who has, or is currently working in the role.

Please note, the information in the tool is by no means exhaustive and has been designed to offer transparency around what is generally expected for each role. Role names within different counties/venues may vary slightly, along with some specifics around what is expected within each. This also applies to qualifications where a recommendation for each role has been supplied, but this is sometimes the discretion of the specific employer.

* District Training is Scotland only, more to follow soon.
