Tennis beginnings
Lissey started playing tennis at the age of seven at Painswick Lawn Tennis Centre - just five minutes from her house.
She was involved in a lot of sports growing up, including football, athletics and hockey, but started taking tennis more seriously at 14 playing more tournaments on the weekends and during school holidays.
At 16 she accessed Team Bath through the AASE programme, before heading off to Northwestern University in the States.
Most important people on her tennis journey
First and foremost her family. Lissey says they are incredibly supportive and always track her games wherever she's playing.
Lorraine Ristic, who was Lissey's first coach and close family friend, and still a big part of her journey.
Her college coaches, Claire Pollard and Jackie Holden who have been there for Lissey during some really tough times.
Last but definitely not least, her current coach at Bath, Macca, who is an instrumental part of her tennis. And in general, the whole team at Bath with Henry (S&C), Lambo (sport psych), and Katie and Adam (physios).

November
Barnett teamed up with fellow Brit Sam Murray Sharan for the W40 Petange event where the pair eased through to the final. In a battle for the title against compatriot, Ali Collins and Isabelle Haverlag, Barnett and Murray Sharan came out on top in the match deciding tie-break to clinch the silverware, 6-7(4), 6-1, 10-6.
October
In October, Barnett and Nicholls joined forces once again at the Open Capfinances Rouen Metropole, where they missed out on a spot in the final to Anna Bondar and Kimberley Zimmermann, 6-4, 6-7(6), 10-1.
July
British duo Barnett and Nicholls bowed out in the opening round of women's doubles at Wimbledon. Barnett also lost in the first round of mixed doubles with Julian Cash to Nikola Mektic and Bernarda Pera 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(7).
Barnett and Nicholls then headed to the W100 Vitoria-Gasteiz event where they sprinted to the silverware, after beating Estelle Cascino & Diana Marcinkevica 6-3, 6-4 in the final to wrap up the title without dropping a set.
June
Barnett and Nicholls kicked off their grass court season in style after finishing runners up in the women's doubles event at the Lexus Surbiton Trophy.
In the final, the all-British pair faced Yanina Wickmayer and Sophie Chang, but missed out on the crown in a 6-4, 6-1 defeat.
May
Barnett and Nicholls then went on to compete at the W100 Wiesbaden event, where they made it to the semi-finals before missing out to Australian duo Jaimee Fourlis and Olivia Gadecki 6-4, 7-5.
April
Barnett was selected to represent Great Britain in their Billie Jean King Cup qualifying tie against France at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Despite Great Britain having already lost their qualifying tie against France, Barnett and Nicholls stepped up to face Clara Burel and reigning French Open doubles champion, Kristina Mladenovic for the doubles rubber. With the scoreboard settled at one point a piece, a decisive tie-break saw the British duo fight back from 8-2 down, to clinch match victory, 7-5, 3-6, 11-9 to continue their fine form in Billie Jean King Cup ties.
March
Barnett and Nicholls lifted their first doubles title of the year together at the W60 Trnava in Slovakia.
The British pair dominated the field throughout the week, and cruised through to their ninth title together without dropping a single set. In the final, they came out on top against third seeds Amina Anshba and Anastasia Detiuc in a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
December
Barnett and Nicholls rounded off their year by making it to the final at the W125 Open BLS de Limoges event.
There, the British doubles duo faced first seeds Oksana Kalashnikova and Marta Kostyuk but were eventually defeated 5-7, 1-6 to finish runners up.
November
Barnett was selected to represent Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow and became Colour Holder No.320 with a 7-5, 6-3 win against Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina and world No.11, Anna Danilina.
The success continued to pour in for the British duo in Great Britain’s tie against Spain, ousting Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov and Rebeka Masarova in their deciding doubles rubber to book the home nation a spot in the semi-finals for the first time since 1981. However, it wasn't meant to be for the British pair who marginally lost out 7-6(1), 6(5)-7, (10-6) against Australia's Storm Sanders and Sam Stosur in a nail-biting deciding doubles rubber.
October
The Brits reached the quarter-finals at the WTA 500 Agel Open, but lost to Alicja Rosolska & Erin Routliffe 6-1, 6-2.
August
Barnett and Nicholls found more success in Poland after beating top seeds Vivian Heisen and Katarzyna Kawa to secure the biggest title of their careers at the W100 Grodzisk Mazowiecki. This marked their seventh trophy together since joining forces for the first time in 2017.
The 28-year-old became the new British No.1 off the back of her first WTA title with Nicholls in Granby. The duo defeated fellow Brit Harriet Dart and Rosalie Van der Hoek 5-7, 6-3, 10-1 in the final to claim their maiden tour trophy.
July
Upon her Wimbledon debut, Barnett pocketed some memorable wins in the mixed doubles as her and Jonny O’Mara claimed the scalp of Venus Williams and fellow Brit, Jamie Murray, to advance to the third round.
It was a month of firsts for Barnett as she reached new heights, breaking into the top 100 for the first time and commemorating her Wimbledon debut with a first round victory over Kaia Kanepi and Renata Voracova alongside partner, Nicholls.
May
The pair proceeded to reach their second consecutive semi-final in Wiesbaden before bowing out of the tournament, losing 6-1, 6-3 to Andrea Gamiz and Eva Vedder.
Fast forward to La Bisbal D’Emporda where Barnett and Nicholls reached yet another final on clay before suffering defeat to Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva and Renata Zarazua 6-4, 2-6, 10-8.
March
Playing in their first WTA event together in Lyon, Barnett and Nicholls reached the final, once again finishing runners-up. Straight set wins in the opening two rounds, followed by a close battle with Ulrikke Eikeri and Sam Murray Sharan took them to the final, where they lost 7-5, 6-1 to Laura Siegemund and Vera Zonareva.
February
Made it to back-to-back W60 doubles finals, this time in Grenoble. Barnett and Nicholls got their revenge on Cascino and Ponchet in the semis, winning 2-6, 7-5, 12-10, before losing to Lily Miyazki and Prarthana Thombare in the final.
January
Barnett's season started with regular partner Olivia Nicholls at the W25 Bath - reaching the semi-finals before being knocked out by Arina Gabriela Vasilescu and Emily Webley-Smith 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
The British duo then went on to finish runners-up at the W60 Andrezieux-Boutheon. After coming through two 11-9 match tie-breaks in both the quarter-final and semi-final, they eventually lost to Estelle Cascino and Jessika Ponchet 6-4, 6-1.
