3 MINUTE READ

So, you’ve found your dream job advertised here at the LTA – but where do you even begin to start with your application?

Here’s a quick run-down of everything you can expect from our recruitment process and some tips to help you in your journey to a career at the LTA.

Step one – Application

Your chance to wow us from the very start – this is where we find out a bit more about you and why you think you’d be a perfect fit at the LTA.

Once you’ve found the job on our vacancies page, click apply and fill in all the required information. You’ll also be asked to attach a CV and cover letter as well to support your application.

Top tip

Make sure your CV is up to date and that you tailor your application for the role you’re applying for.

Step two – Shortlist

Our Recruitment team will collate all the applications and begin screening them – selecting the candidates that they feel will be best suited for the role. They'll then share these with the hiring manager to shortlist successful applicants for the next stage of the process.

Step three – First interview

If you make it onto the shortlist, you'll be invited to have an interview with the hiring manager and at least one other member of the team. This will be either face-to-face or virtual – whatever works best for you.

In the first interview, we'll ask you about your experience, why you want to work at the LTA, competency-based questions around the role, questions around our values, and finish off with any questions you may have for us. We’ll let you know what to expect in terms of timelines for the second stage interview if you're successful.

Top tip

Make sure you think about our values of Teamwork, Inclusion, Excellence, Passion and Integrity when answering questions throughout the process.

Step four – Second interview

During your second interview you’ll get a chance to demonstrate your skills, meet wider members of the team and learn more about the organisation.

At this stage, the hiring manager will likely set you a short task – centred around the role you’re applying for – for you to complete.

Top tip

In this stage, it's likely you'll be interviewed by the Executive of the department your role falls into – so we’d definitely suggest doing your homework in advance. If you’re unsure of what to prepare for, we recommend you research the team, their goals, their experience – it goes a long way.

Step five – Final stages

If you successfully make it through all four stages and are selected for the position, we’ll get in touch as soon as possible to share the good news!

We’ll confirm all the relevant details as well as the next steps. Before you know it, you’ll be on board – helping us in our mission to open tennis up across Great Britain.

While we can’t offer everyone the role, we will always do our best to provide you with some constructive feedback where requested.

Step six – Arguably the most important step

We particularly welcome applications from people from ethnically diverse communities, deaf and disabled people, members of the LGBTQ+ community and people with lived experience of the UK's many and varied communities
